Because we care about how they’re made and what goes into them. Our milk comes from a unique blend of our own organic Jersey and Friesian cows. They graze on the lush, organic pastures of our Herefordshire farms, which gives the milk a natural luxuriously creamy taste.
Because the quality of our milk is so high, we want the quality of any ingredients we add to match this. We use the very best organic fruit in our yoghurts, much of which is grown on our own farms or sourced locally where possible. This adds heritage to our products and reduces unnecessary food miles. We use artisan methods and traditional recipes to keep the natural goodness and flavour of the ingredients.
The Dairy House was founded over thirty years ago. Today, we’re owned by four Herefordshire dairy farmers. We’re proud that in this age of multinational corporations, we’re still an independent, UK company.
The Dairy House products are for people who care about what they eat. We think they taste better because they’re made with care using the finest ingredients.
The milk is non-homogenised organic milk from our own Jersey and Friesian cows. It’s high in essential vitamins and minerals and has a deliciously rich, creamy and unique taste.
The ingredients we add to our products are natural and organic and wherever possible grown on our own farms or sourced locally, keeping food miles to a minimum and adding real local heritage.
We want our finished products to be as natural as possible.
Why is our milk non-homogenised?
There are concerns that the process of homogenising milk, the process of forcing tiny fat particles throughout the milk may make the body more at risk from heart attacks. Homogenisation allows the enzyme xanthine oxidase to pass directly in to the blood stream, where it attacks the tissues in the artery walls.
