theOrganicGardenShop & our suppliers

Our History and who we are?

TheOrganicGardenShop is a small team of organic horticulturalists interested in moving the world toward a more organic and sustainable future. We are slowly growing our range of products to help ensure that non-organic products are removed from the food chain where possible. Starting with fertilisers we've carefully chosen Groworganic as it is an award winning organic fertiliser manufacturer approved and certified by the Organic Growers and Farmers Association. We shortly plan to to stock and sell organic seeds to help ensure that growers have confidence that their produce is end to end organic.

Supplier information - Where does Groworganic come from?

Groworganic comes from happy chickens and their hen houses. When the chickens have a bedding change the Groworganic team help by recycling the bedding. It's primarily chicken manure, chopped straw and sawdust that we compost, heat cleanse to 200degrees centigrade and mill into a fine crumble similar to roughly chopped tea leaves - all full of plant goodness. The Groworganic team have made it for the last 30 years in the heart of rural Somerset near Glastonbury.

Supplier information - Is Groworganic certified?

Groworganic is certified by the Organic Farmers & Growers Ltd. This is one fo the UKs leading control bodies accredited by Defra (UK Government Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and is approved to inspect organic production and processing in the UK.

Supplier information - Who uses Groworganic?

Growers with a concern for the environment and the quality of their produce use Groworganic. Lots and lots of allotment societies up and down the UK only grow with Groworganic. Far afield users include the Orkneys Horticultural Society, The Port Stanley Garden club in the Falklands, Organic Vineyards in Italy and commercial fruit and vegetable growers in the Middle East. Everyone who uses Groworganic has one thing in common, they love to look after the environment as much as they love to look after what they grow.

Supplier information - What does Groworganic contain?

Groworganic provides the pillars of plant health, a balanced nutritional solution of Nitrogen(N 5.8%), Phosphorous(P) 3.5% and Potassium(K) 3%.
