Jonathan and Sally Rees are a young couple from Mochdre, a small hamlet about 4 miles from Newtown in Mid Wales.
Jonathan has played a very active role within his Young Farmers Club (YFC) and represented the National YFC on an exchange programme to Kenya as well as representing his county throughout Wales.
Sally started her career as a Staff Nurse in London before moving back to Wales where she met Jonathan, a keen and enterprising young farmer, then in the fullness of time they married. Their first son Maldwyn was born in September 2003, Followed by son number 2 in May 2006.
Their farm, Tyn Y Fron, is a traditional Welsh long house set amongst the gentle Montgomeryshire hills, where their stock graze freely. It was here that their dream was born, which eventually became Welsh Farm Organics. Jonathan, having farmed on the family farm in the Dugwm Valley all his life, noticed a gap in the market for more affordable organic meat, so in 2001 the obtained Organic status. To back this up, they began planning for a processing unit back in July 2001. The lack of availability of good quality organic Welsh beef and lamb was apparent to Jonathan as a farmer and he felt the public/consumer deserved to have full traceability of their meat, to experience meat tasting as it should and be able to buy it without paying the usual, onerous, Organic premium. Thus Welsh Farm Organics was born.
Jonathan and Sally say that at Welsh Farm Organics the aim is to provide the consumer with good quality Welsh beef, pork and lamb, straight from the farm, with 100% traceability and the added bonus of organic status. This means no fertilisers or chemicals are used in connection with the rearing of stock and no overuse of antibiotics. Everything is strictly regulated which is better for you, the consumer, the environment, and of course, the beautiful land that Jonathan and Sally are proud to call home.
Jonathan and Sally would like to extend the following invitation "Come and see us, and if you can't come and see us, do the next best thing and choose Welsh Farm Organics for all your Organic beef, lamb and pork".
This is now easier since Welsh Farm Organics established their own on-line shop which is open to you today, just follow the links from this page and shop in the comfort of your own home.
Since launching the on-line shop in the second half of 2004 Welsh Farm Organics have become a major player in the mail order market, specialising in the home delivery of Organic Meat, they can arrange delivery throughout the UK (excluding one or two of the off-shore islands) by a next day courier service.
The preferred method of ordering is by the on-line shop where anyone can order Organic Beef, Organic Lamb, Organic Pork or speciality products from the Organic Deli, all from Wales, however we are also pleased to accept orders by phone, by fax and email for our Organic Welsh Meat.
We also provide a bespoke wholesale service for organic meat and welcome all enquiries from those buying though the wholesale trade.
To enhance the flavour of their Organic meat, it is all hung under Jonathan's personal supervision, with the Organic Beef being hung for a minimum of 21 days.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch, Jonathan loves the chance to discuss anything and everything Organic.
