Welcome to New Close Farm Shop - we supply fresh, organic and where possible local, fruit, vegetables and other other goods.
NEWS UPDATE: We now have sausages, burgers and pork fillet joints from our own pigs. They have been made to our own, traditional recipe and contain only the sausage ingredients - they contain no preservatives at all. Our bacon is being cured and will be ready at the end of May.
We are proud of our range organic fruit and vegetables; we usually have up to fifty different types of fruit and veg. Our range is larger than any of the local supermarkets, and, because we buy locally wherever possible and don't maintain large depots at the other end of the country, our prices are often cheaper too.
Our ultra free range eggs are highly regarded by our customers, and if you are at all concerned about animal welfare, just visit us and you will almost certainly see them walking around the farm!
We also have an expanding range of other organic products such as flours, pasta, spices, pulses, nuts, soups, sauces, snacks and treats. If we don't have something, please ask and we can see if its available from our organic suppliers. Click here to download our latest fruit and veg list.
If you've already tried organic food you'll already be convinced of the quality of organic produce, if not, don't listen to us, but try some and let the food do the talking...
Some of our other products include some local speciality foods and drinks that may not be organic, but we ensure no artificial colourings, stabilisers or preservatives. We are particularly interested in traditional locally produced foods and drinks.
We are found between Sacriston and Witton Gilbert, near Durham City, just off the B6312. If you are planning a visit, we recommend Thursdays to Saturdays - this is when we have our widest range of fresh produce.
