This is a vision that will continue evolving hence the name of the site ‘There Must Be a Better Way’. I am not saying that this is ‘the way’, but simply another way to a healthier, balanced and happier lifestyle that will not further pollute and raid our already over-burdened planet.

Since becoming aware of the many undesirable used chemicals within the cosmetics and skincare industry since the mid-nineties, being a Qualified Holistic Therapist (Swedish Massage and Advanced Aromatherapy being my main disciplines) and also with the new emerging research following the use of harsh synthetic chemicals (please see Better Way Guide for Links to WWF, GreenPeace, The Soil Association and the Co-Operative Bank, etc.) I am keen to follow and see where this research takes us. I am a highly sensitive individual, eczema being my major problem. In trying to ‘cure’ my sensitivities, my skin condition being my barometer, so to speak, I have leapt fully into the organic natural lifestyle. This includes my skincare routine, diet, how I clean my clothes and my house (did you know a few drops of tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon or scotch pine 'pure' essential oils are just as effective at cleaning bathrooms (ridding surfaces from harmful fungal, bacterial and viral microbes) and kitchens as everyday toxic kitchen and bathroom disinfectants? Please seek the guidance of a Qualified Aromatherapist as Essential Oils need to be respected when used as are highly potent. For some people with certain conditions such as high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes, pregnant or kidney problems, can be exceedingly dangerous). Natural goes for the garden too. Furnishings and décor are also other items to consider, when items need renewing and walls need re-painting, you can be sure I will be researching the best ‘eco/health friendly’ items available on the market and eventually listing the manufacturers on our Better Way Guide. In fact, the Co-operative Bank is already starting to look into finding safer alternatives for their bank's fixtures and fittings. Perhaps you have ventured this far and eager to share your findings? If so, please email me: sales@theremustbeabetterway.co.uk

On this site you will only find natural and natural organic products. I would highly recommend to all those who are interested in finding more natural skincare products to conduct your own thorough research for peace of mind. The products on this site have been chosen because they have been created with no harsh synthetic chemicals. You can be assured that every new product introduced to our site has been thoroughly checked against a very strict criteria for ingredients allowed. Existing products are regularly checked for changes of ingredients, however, as with all manufacturers their ingredients are subject to change. If in the unlikely event you discover a discrepancy in our ingredient listing, please inform us immediately.

All products on this site are cruelty free and no animal testing has taken place. So ALL products are suitable for Vegetarians, some are suitable for Vegans. The ingredients are clearly displayed next to each product, so you can pick and choose according to your own guidelines.

Alcohol in products? For most of us, alcohol content should be fine to use as our suppliers use plant based sugars (not petroleum based alcohol) which can possess benefits for both the product and user. More information about Alcohol content in Weleda skin care>>>

Pure Essential Oils are used for aroma only. Hence, no need for artificial perfumes/fragrances.

No artificial colours will be found in any of these products. All colouring is a result from the natural colours of the pure ingredients.

No Hydrogenated Fats, no petrochemicals, including mineral oils or paraffin waxes are used. Only pure plant based oils and fats are used, packed full of nourishing natural vitamins and essential fatty acids.

Also not included: No Sodium Borate (natural borax); No Carmine/Cochineal, No PEGs; No Lanolin; No Parabens; No Sodium Lauryl Sulphates; No Phthalates; No irradiated ingredients; No Genetically Modified ingredients; No FD&C Colours; No Imidazolidinyl Urea and No Propylene Glycols.

In other words, if in doubt, leave it out...

However, they DO contain Bioactive ingredients. These holistic products are created with Love by caring Earth Conscious people. Packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible.

Quote from Living Nature 'We are working with various groups to grow more plants and much of our time is spent trying to convince our government to protect our unique position here in New Zealand by promoting an organic and GE/Genetically Engineered-free environment'.

Whenever possible our Suppliers use certified organic ingredients grown without artificial fertilisers or pesticides, resulting in less herbicide, pesticide residues in your products.

However, it stands to reason if certain environmentally unfriendly chemicals are still in use today, they will turn up somewhere/anywhere; the cycle will be perpetuated until we finally stop using them altogether. For a blunt 'this is how it is' view this page:

Thank goodness for people who are becoming more aware of what they use to cleanse and moisturise their bodies with. Some very creative people are concocting their own natural delights for their friends and families and who now want to share their pure produce with us.

I personally feel that just by doing a little something towards being earth conscious is better than doing nothing. If everyone did that little one something, what a major difference that would make! It is a step nearer to living life a better way? If not us, who? If not now, when?
