Set up in 2008 by Jo Preston and Claire Watson, miki sources stylish and contemporary design, clothing & accessories, sustainably and responsibly made.
We aim to provide our customers with timeless pieces that go against the current ‘throw away fashion’ trend combined with a selection of on trend items that bring that extra something to your wardrobe whilst insistently sticking to our ethical principles.
If you are like us then being surrounded by good design and gorgeous clothes makes you happy. We want to be the change we want to see in the world. This means making sure that the people who make our products are also happy, and that from crop to final product the best environmental practices are used.
We aren’t here to promote a righteous lifestyle but to show that by making small changes to the way we shop we can make positive changes to the environment and peoples well-being.
What are our ethical principles?
There are strict standards that must be adhered to for any product or company/ charity to obtain organic or fair-trade status. We only source products/brands that have at least one of the certifications listed below or support small community projects that have an obvious social benefit to the producers. Products produced in Europe do not require the above certification but the raw materials still need to be organic or fairtrade.
We are also constantly looking for products that positively combat against climate change by either the use of renewable energy or carbon offsetting.
