Organic Food in BrittanyFor the last 13 years we have holidayed in Brittany. Our favourite area is known as La Côte de Granit Rose, in the Côtes-d'Armor region.
In the same period we have been following a 100% organic diet at home. We were absolutely delighted when we discovered the huge abundance of Organic food available in the North of Brittany.
The supermarket chains such as Geant, Carrefour, E Leclerc and Shopi U, all have a basic range of organic food.
But what is even better are the specialist BioCoops which sell 100% organic produce.
And even better than this, are the markets. Within a range of less than 10 miles radius, there is a market every day of the week. Usual stalls include Organic greengrocers, butchers, bakers, cheese makers and even Crepe Vans.
Brittany is also very famous for the unrefined Guérande sea salt, as natural as can be. And of course, one can drink the Breton Organic Cidre with your meals.
As well as food, some of the Biocoops also sell clothing and other household items. In some of the towns here are specialist organic clothes shops.
